Local MLA Bigala Ganesh Gupta has informed the media that the long-pending master plan for the city of over four lakh inhabitants is all set for government approval in ten days.

In an informal chat with the mediapersons here on Thursday, he said that he had discussed the proposal with the Municipal Administration Minister K.T. Rama Rao during his visit to the city yesterday and the latter had told that it would be released for public opinion in a few days to come.

The plan would be made public giving scope for raising objections, if any, on matters related to roads, parks and related issues and after two to three months it would be sent to the government for final approval, he said. He said underground drainage works and Mission Bhagiratha pipeline laying were almost complete barring minor finishing touch-ups.

City beautification works have been undertaken and by December-end they would be complete at all major junctions. Roads were widened at some places, dividers rebuilt, high mast lights set up and avenue plantation was done, he said.

“IT Tower is my dream project and it would provide 1,000 IT jobs and at least 3,000 other jobs relating to them. As many as 12 international IT companies signed MoU with government to invest in the IT tower. A BPO at Sudheer Reddy Engineering College would also come up in September,” said Ganesh Gupta.

Thanking the IT and MAUD Minister Rama Rao and government for their positive response and release of necessary funds for city development, he said works to the tune of ₹900 crore were executed in the city in the last four years.
