Shamshabad police are trying to identity a young woman whose charred body was found in the outskirts of Shamshabad on Tuesday.

Except a copper ring on her burnt fingers, pieces of cloth around the spot where the body was found, no other clues were found. Though police sent an alert to all police stations to respond if the available details match with any missing case, Shamshabad police sub-inspector (SI) N Sridhar who is investigating the case said that they did not find any match till Tuesday early evening.

The SI said that locals saw the charred body on Tuesday and informed the Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) who lodged a complaint with the police.

The body was sent for post-mortem and doctors opined that her age could be around 25 years. The SI said that they believe she must have been set on fire two to three days ago, and that her fingerprints could not be taken as her body was burnt completely.
