Sanitaryware company HSIL plans to double the capacity of its pipes and fittings manufacturing plant in Sangareddy, near Hyderabad, with an investment of ₹ 150 crore.

The plant which got into production mode in August last year has a capacity of 30,000 tonnes and had entailed an investment of ₹180 crore thus far. “We will be expanding the capacity to 60,000 metric tonnes by FY-2022,” HSIL Pipes Division president Rajesh Pajnoo said.

The ‘Truflo by Hindware’ CPVC, UPVC, SWR and PVC pipes and fittings are targeted at the construction industry and finds application in potable water transportation, water harvesting, underground drainage and sanitation.

Mr. Pajnoo, who spoke to the media here on Wednesday, said the expansion would coincide with the ₹1,000 crore revenue target the company is pursuing to achieve by 2021-22. At present, the size of the market for such products is estimated around ₹ 9,000 crore.

In the eight months into the business, the pipes and fittings division registered ₹130 crore sales, he said. “This financial year we will be doing ₹250-280 crore,” he said, adding the headcount of the Division was expected to increase from the existing around 320 to 550 in the next few years.
