‘BJP will make Hyderabad a smart city’

October 13, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:47 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Union Minister for Science and Technology Harsh Vardhan has said that nothing will stop BJP from occupying the Mayorship of Hyderabad in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections even if the party cadre took five per cent of the programmes of BJP-led NDA government to people.

He said Union Urban Development Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu would take steps to develop Hyderabad as a smart city if it got a Mayor, who was a BJP candidate.

Mr. Harsh Vardhan was speaking at a public meeting at Exhibition grounds. He added that elections were a great opportunity for party activists to serve people.

In the case of BJP, the role of the party cadre was all the more important because Prime Minister Narendra Modi continuously came up with ideas. The BJP will create history in the Bihar elections, he said. The meeting was also addressed by Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP State president G. Kishan Reddy and MLA K. Laxman.
