Bid to plant bomb foiled at Charla

The Charla police on Friday foiled an alleged attempt by a miscreant to plant a pressure cooker bomb in the town. Sources said a police team noticed an unidentified person moving under suspicious circumstances near the bus stand on Friday morning. On seeing the police, the miscreant fled from the spot leaving behind a bag containing a pressure cooker bomb. The local police kept the bag at an isolated place and summoned a bomb disposal squad from Bhadrachalam.

The squad defused the bomb. in adherence to safety precautions later in the day. The police in coordination with the CRPF personnel launched a search operation on all the thoroughfares leading to strife-torn areas of Chhattisgarh following the incident.
