Bank of Baroda’s events for farmers this fortnight

One-time settlement scheme available

Bank of Baroda has lined up a number of events for Baroda Kisan Pakhwada, a fortnight dedicated to farmers from October 1, and Baroda Kisan Diwas or farmers day on October 16, which coincides with World Food Day.

Briefing media on Monday about the events, General Manager and Zonal Head, Hyderabad Zone of the bank P. Sreenivas and Deputy Zonal Head Satyanarayana Gidugu said they are unique programmes organised to reach out to the farmer community.

During the Pakhwada, various programmes are to be organised by different branches of the Bank, including farmers’ fairs, night meets in villages, health check-up camps for farmers as well as cattle, financial literacy camp. The objective is to increase advances in rural and agriculture sector.

Besides serving as a platform for farmer engagement, the programmes also provide the bank an opportunity to promote various agriculture lending products.

The bankers said centralised processing centres have been made operational at Gandhinagar and Hyderabad for processing all agriculture loans, except food and agro processing.

A release from the bank said a special OTS (one-time settlement) scheme for recovery of agricultural non-performing assets up to ₹5 lakh and further sanction of fresh loans to farmers who settle their dues is available.
