‘Bangaru Bathukamma’ this time!

Telangana Jagruthi will organise the Bathukamma festival this year as a mega event titled ‘Bangaru Bathukamma’ from October 12 to October 20, which will culminate in ‘Saddula Bathukamma’ on the final day, at Tank Bund. For the first time, the festival is also being organised in the city of Mumbai.

A ceremonial parade will be organised on the Tank Bund on October 20, with thousands of women gathering there, and folk artistes exhibiting art forms of the region, a press release from the organisation said,.

The festival will be organised at Narsampet of Warangal district, Husnabad of Karimnagar, Kamareddy of Nizamabad, Koudipally and Narsapur of Medak, Vikarabad of Ranga Reddy, Kothakota of Mahabubnagar, Mumbai in Maharashtra, and Devarakonda of Nalgonda in that order from October 12 to 19 respectively, the note said.
