Award for passport official

Palepogu Udaya Lakshmi, Superintendent of Hyderabad Regional Passport Office, has been chosen as the “Best Granting Officer” for processing 78,781 passport applications, and granting 76,857 passports and 1,924 police clearance certificates last year. The award is given by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Record of sorts

“This is a record in the country, which no one has ever achieved,” said a press release from the Passport Office. She will be presented the award by Sushma Swaraj, Minister for External Affairs, at a function to be held in Delhi on June 26 on the occasion of Passport Diwas. Ms. Udaya Lakshmi worked at Vijayawada and Begumpet Passport Seva Kendras last year. The Hyderabad Regional Passport officer, Ashwini Sattaru, and other officials congratulated her.
