The attack on a forest range officer recently in Kagaznagar of Komram Bheem Asifabad district was raised in the Parliament by the Malkajgiri MP A. Revanth Reddy on Wednesday.

Mr. Reddy said there is no coordination between the Forest and Revenue departments and the State government is to be blamed for this. He said the government has failed to solve the problems of shifting cultivators though the problem existed since long. He said in fact Komrum Bheem, on whose name the district was carved out recently from the erstwhile Adilabad district, also fought against the Britishers on the same issue. Even as Mr. Reddy spoke, members of the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) opposed the allegations against the government. The attack on Chole Anitha, forest range officer by a group of people led by Zilla Parishad vice-chairman, Koneru Krishna Rao, who is also the brother of TRS MLA Konery Konappa, snowballed into a big issue. The officer was severely injured in the attack and the police was at the receiving end for not trying to stop the attack on the officer.

Ms. Anita was at the place as a part of the plantation drive of the State Government. The locals opposed the plantation demanding that they are cultivating the land.

The attack was condemned by TRS working president K.T. Rama Rao and later Mr. Krishna Rao was arrested along with his supporters for the attack.
