Two express highways will be developed from Amberpet towards Boduppal and Imliban as alternative routes to ease travel in view of the upcoming flyovers at Uppal and Amberpet, Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan has informed.

A 10-km road will be developed between Ali Cafe of Amberpet and Asian Mall of Boduppal via Metro Rail depot, and another 4-km road between Ali Cafe and Imliban along Musi. Mr. Ram Mohan toured Amberpet, Ramanthapur, and Uppal along with officials of GHMC and Hyderabad Road Development Corporation.

On Saturday, the corporation conducted a workshop on urban floods at its head office, presided over by JNTU principal E. Saibaba Reddy. A study by JNTU conducted under an MOU with GHMC assessed 229 waterlogging locations in the city and proposed additional 450 km of storm water drains in the central median, 2.7 lakh rainwater harvesting (RWH) structures by households under social responsibility, 17,767 RWHs in government lands, and 636 water tanks to be constructed under BOT basis.

A meeting with owners of restaurants, bars and pubs will be held on August 20, to educate them about the fire safety norms, the GHMC said in another press note.
