Agri-inputs firm invests ₹15 crorein new plant near city

Agri-inputs firm Prism Crop Science Pvt. Ltd. has set up a manufacturing facility, comprising an organic nutrient factory and a formulation unit, with an investment of ₹15 crore in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district.

Announcing that the new facility would go on stream shortly, Director S.P. Raja Sekhar on Monday said the production capacity consisted of 3,000 kilolitres of liquids, including emulsifiable and suspension concentrates, 1,000 tonnes of powder formulation and 10000 tonnes of granules.

Since it began operations in 2008, the company had been undertaking manufacturing operations from a leased premises near the city.

With the new plant, the number of products of the company would increase to 100 from 60 at present, said Mr. Sekhar, who along with managing director G. Yugendhar Rao, interacted with presspersons here on Monday.

Besides taking its products to different parts of the country – at present they are available in 11 States – the new facility is also expected to help the company get into exports.

Prism Crop Science is eyeing the China market and hopeful of starting exports in three months, Mr.Sekhar said.
