The Gondwana Panchayat Rai Centre and Welfare Society, Mathadiguda in Utnoor mandal of Adilabad district, has announced boycott of coming election and also called upon other Adivasi Rai Centres in former united Adilabad district to follow suit.
A meeting of elders and village heads of 40 habitations under the Rai Centre resolved to boycott at its meeting held at Utnoor on Thursday. According to the resolution, no political party has shown any interest in supported the Adivasis in their demand for removal of Lambadas from the list of Scheduled Tribes and hence the decision.
