TDP leader and Rajya Sabha MP C.M. Ramesh on Tuesday dismissed allegations that it was from his bank account that the alleged bribe money used in the cash-for-vote episode was drawn.
Speaking to the media amid reports that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Telangana was gearing up to serve notices on him in the case, he said if the agency did indeed believe that his bank account was the source of the money that Telangana TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy allegedly offered to nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson, then proof ought to be furnished.
He invited the investigating agency to approach the bank and seek details of the amount withdrawn and the account from which it was withdrawn.
The MP alleged that the Telangana government has hatched a political conspiracy in the name of the cash-for-vote episode to defame the TDP ahead of elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation.
Since the TDP continued to enjoy strong base in Hyderabad even after bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, the TRS was trying to threaten settlers from AP.
