AsliStamp, a dApp (decentralised application) to fight fake certificates, counterfeit trade labels and document fraud, was launched by Zoreum Blockchain Labs, a Singapore-based blockchain technology service firm.

Developed by the Hyderabad development centre of Zoreum, AsliStamp has numerous utilities and potential with sealing the security of sensitive and important documents with document integrity and verification system.

The dApp generates a cryptographic hash based SQRC, a next generation QR code, based on data of documents like university certificates, commercial papers, government identities, artworks, legal agreements, immigration documents, share certificates. The hash of document data is stored on blockchain and hence, any change in data on server is not possible and is tamper-proof, a release from Zoreum said.

A company official said, for example, universities can use AsliStamp dApp to digitalise their process of issuing certificates, without complex and cost intensive use of RFIDs, hologram and other technologies. Using the dApp, universities can generate QR for student certificates that are stored on their servers and as well position it on the certificates.

When a student receives the certificate and carries a printout of the digital certificate, employer or others can scan the QR with AsliStamp QR scanner and if the hash of the certificate on server matches with the hash on blockchain, then original certificate is retrieved and can be verified.
