Traffic home guard assaulted

A traffic home guard was assaulted by autorickshaw drivers for asking them to shift their vehicles that were obstructing free flow of traffic at Omar Hotel near Kanchanbagh on Saturday night.

Home Guard Ayub Ali Khan was on duty at Kanchanbagh when he found two autorickshaws disrupting traffic on the main road.

An argument ensued when he asked the drivers to remove the vehicles, leading to a scuffle.

The drivers overpowered Khan and assaulted him resulting in injuries.

The police said the auto drivers involved in the attack had been identified and efforts were on to trace them.
