February 14, 2017 12:32 am | Updated 12:33 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Safety is a continuous process and complacency was not acceptable, said South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar during a video conference with divisional railway managers of all six divisions, i.e., Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded, from Rail Nilayam on Monday.

Calling upon all the zonal and divisional officials to regularly get involved in safety inspections and ambush checks, he said officials should adhere to safety norms while conducting inspections. Minute details in the safety report should be recorded.

Mr. Kumar stressed upon the need to reduce rail fractures, weld failures and other unsafe features at level crossings to esnure safety, a press release said.
