For those expecting penalty waivers related to property tax this year, there is some bad news. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is all set to crack the whip on the property tax defaulters and making it clear that there will be no penalty waivers. At a meeting here on Wednesday, Commissioner B. Janardhan Reddy directed all the Zonal and Deputy Commissioners to issue warrants to the top defaulters and ensure cent percent property tax collection.

The Commissioner interacted with the officials about the tax collection process and instructed them to take much more responsibility to reach their targets in a phased manner. The officials were also told to regularly conduct property tax grievance meetings and focus on addressing them. He appealed to the citizens to pay their property tax so as to serve the citizens with better facilities.

During the meeting, it was decided to continue the Swachh Survekshan works by ensuring 100% segregation and also awarding the auto trolley drivers with high attendance with incentives.

The Ranga Reddy District officials also proposed to identify locations for Urban Health Posts in 24 wards of Ranga Reddy District to increase the centres from 3 to 18 for the convenience of the citizens.
