July 20, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:00 am IST - Hyderabad:

Rubath of Hyderabad, a resting place or guesthouse built for Haj pilgrims who hail from Nizam’s erstwhile state will host at least 90 pilgrims from ten districts of Telangana, seven districts of Maharashtra and four districts of Karnataka this year. The guest house is located in Makkah.

In a draw of lots held in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, names of 90 pilgrims were selected here on Tuesday. While the Rubath in Makkah was not taking in pilgrims due to rifts between the Nizam’s family and Haj Committee, this year the matter was resolved, Mr. Ali said. “The selected pilgrims will also be offered free food during their stay at Makkah.

Prof. S. A. Shukoor, Special Officer, Telangana State Haj committee said that Haj pilgrims who depart for Saudi Arabia from Hyderabad get the best of facilities making the city one of the best embarkation points in the country.
