The Swachh Hyderabad initiative scheduled from May 16 to 20 would not be one time affair but carried out every month with a day exclusively earmarked for it, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, said here on Thursday.
Mr. Rao, who held a meeting with Ministerial colleagues, elected representatives from the city and senior officials on Thursday, said the inputs and feedback collected from citizens during the programme would be discussed and reviewed with elected representatives from the city on May 26.
Against the original plan of splitting the GHMC jurisdiction into 400 units, the Swachh Hyderabad would have 425 units with the addition of 17 Industrial Area Local Authorities (IALAs) and eight Cantonment area units. Soon after launch on May 16, the official teams would visit areas assigned to them and engage in sanitation efforts including removal of garbage and debris and ensuring cleanliness in association with local residents, he said.
Apart from the Governor, Chief Minister, Ministers and officials, the police and army personnel too would be joining the initiative.
Mr.Rao has asked the teams to also document the availability of basic amenities, issues demanding immediate attention and whether social welfare measures of the government were reaching the needy or not, according to a press release.
