KCR heaps praise on Modi

‘Prime Minister provided hundred per cent corruption-free governance and I have not seen such a government in my 40 years of political life’

Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao showered praises on Prime Minister Narendra Modi stating that he had extended hundred per cent corruption-free governance to people of India and he never saw such a government in his 40 years of political life.

Addressing a huge gathering attended by more than 1.5 lakh people at this place where Mission Bhagiratha, flagship programme of the State Government, was launched on Sunday by Mr. Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister said that he was happy that the Mission Bhagiratha was inaugurated by Mr. Modi. He said that the scheme would extend Krishna and Godavari waters for a population of 66,800 in the first phase.

The Chief Minister welcomed Modi and other Union Ministers – M. Venkaiah Naidu, Piyush Goyal, Anantha Kumar, Suresh Prabhu and Bandaru Dattatreya by name and thanked them for the cooperation with their ministries in taking the State forward.

“I am happy that the Ramagundam fertilizer factory was reopened with the kind cooperation of the Prime Minister after a being closed for 17 long years,” he said adding that Singareni power plant generating 1200 MW power was dedicated to the nation by the Prime Minster which was established at a cost of Rs. 8,000 crore. He said that foundation stone was laid for the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) power plant which produces 1,600 MW power at an estimated cost of Rs. 10,000 crore.

Referring to the cooperation extended by Surface Transport Minister Nithin Gadkari, Mr Chandrasekhar Rao said that the Highway connectivity was more than national average with four points comparing with the national average of 3.5.

Mr. Rao also recalled his first meeting with Mr. Modi. “I met Mr. Modi in Ludhiana in 2009. He said that our fight for Telangana was genuine. I am a Chief Minister with responsibility. I do not ask for Rs. 50,000 crore or Rs. one lakh crore. I am asking you to show love and affection towards the new born State,” he told the Prime Minister. KCR urged Modi to sanction one national project for irrigation, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, IIM and ITIR.
