Jana regrets TS stand on land acquisition

January 07, 2017 12:56 am | Updated 12:57 am IST - HYDERABAD:

Leader of the Opposition K. Jana Reddy said that he did not expect President Pranab Mukherjee to give assent to the Amendment Bill for the Central legislation on land acquisition which was passed by the State Assembly a few days ago.

In a chit-chat with reporters in the Assembly lobbies on Friday, Mr. Reddy regretted the stand of the State government on land acquisition. He said he regretted why he pointed out shortcomings in the Bill. But, he performed his duty as a member of the House. Mr. Reddy also said the government did not realise the deficiencies in the Bill till he raised them in the House. He criticised T. Harish Rao’s remarks against Congress member Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.
