The construction of the yellow-coloured palatial building of Virinchi Hospitals on Road No 1, Banjara Hills took long but the wait seems to have been worth it. For Masab Tank residents, the building is now becoem the preferred landmark, replacing the Pension Office Bus Stop (the office doesn’t exist now). Located between two major roads that lead to Mehdipatnam and Jubilee Hills, the use of reflective mirrors and how it breaks conventional norms of a hospital exterior has become a talking point and is attracts curious crowds. It has turned into a favoured selfie spot for two-wheeler users caught in traffic jams and people who wait long to board a bus. Another testimony to the building’s popularity is how a function hall on First Lancer Road is now being reconstructed on lines of the hospital architecture.
