Court refuses to grant stay in BMW case

Justice A. Shankar Narayana of Hyderabad High Court on Thursday expressed disinclination to grant stay in a quash petition moved by former and present officials of the BMW India Ltd., in a criminal case pending against them before XI Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Secunderabad. The judge was dealing with a case filed by company officers. They told the court that the trial court took cognisance of the private complaint and issued summons to appear before it without going into merits of the case. The complaint was filed by M/s Delta Motors, a car dealer of the city. The judge felt that alternate remedies maybe sought.
