HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K.Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday undertook a review of several issues in the Police Department, including the need to fill up of the vacancies immediately in the constable cadre.
A release from his office, on the meeting attended among others by Home Minister Naini Narasimha Reddy and Director General of Police Anurag Sharma, said Mr. Rao appreciated the Police and Industries Department for doing a good job.
“Several people visiting the city from other States have vouched for it and gave a good feedback. After the State government introduced the new industrial policy, TS-iPASS, as many as 2,500 new industries came to the State and this is largely due to the good law and order situation in the State,” Mr. Rao said.
There is a remarkable drop in the crime in the State and the police are also reforming people who have committed crimes on humanitarian considerations, the release said.
Since the L&O situation is better, there is a bonhomie among the people both in the rural and urban areas, Mr. Rao said. The DGP informed the Chief Minister about the need to appoint more constables and explained other issues of the department,. “A discussion took place on filling up the constable vacancies immediately in the constable cadre,” the release said.
