The Budget session of the Andhra Pradesh legislature is likely to commence its maiden proceedings in the new capital, Amaravati, in March first week, tentatively on March 3. According to Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao, the legislature complex in the new capital is ready in all respects, barring a few finishing touches, which would be completed in a few days. The legislature staff, currently working from the joint capital, Hyderabad, have been asked to shift to the new capital between February 22 and 25. In an informal chat with the media here on Sunday, Dr. Rao said that facilities were being created for providing accommodation and other amenities to the staff members who would be relocated to the new capital region.

On his comments against women recently, he said that a section of the media indulged in false propaganda by distorting his remarks.
