Bird Race on December 13

HSBC and Birdwatchers’ Society of Andhra Pradesh will be conducting the third edition of ‘Bird Race’ on December 13, a press note informed. The participating team that identifies the most number of bird species will be adjudged winner in this competition. The rules of the competition are as follows: Participants have to bring their own cars or bikes. Each car will have four persons and will comprise a team (two motorbikes with four riders will be considered as one team. Those without cars will be accommodated in other teams).

Each car will have a captain who is familiar with the geography of Hyderabad and reasonably well-versed in bird identification. Those who don’t have any experience in bird watching can take part too.

The teams will be flagged off early in the morning and have to report back by sunset. Each team will be given a log book containing a list of birds found in the region as well as places and possible location of spotting them.

All the species that have been spotted should be ticked mark and the log book must be surrendered to judges in the evening. Participants are expected to carry their own lunch, water and snacks, binoculars and field guides. For details and registration contact Shanti Mani 9391008302 or Sushil Kapadia at 9393319333.
