The Bureau of Immigration officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad here on Wednesday detained nine women while they were trying to board a flight to Kuwait with forged work visas.

The women, who hail from different states, were later handed over to RGIA police for further investigation.

Police said that the women passengers were detained at the immigration counter when the authorities checked their travel documents and found them to be fake.

“All of them were carrying forged visas,” police said, adding that their names will be disclosed during a press conference on Thursday.

Police, who are suspecting this to be part of an overseas job racket, said that efforts are on to identify the kingpin by launching an investigation.
