25-year-old man murdered

A 25-year-old man, Mohd. Shakeel alias ‘Chor Shakeel’, was stabbed to death by three persons at Chandrayanagutta in the old city on Wednesday night.

The accused were identified as Hazi Jabri and his relatives Matin Jabri and Jubair Jabri, Chandrayanagutta Inspector N. Rama Rao said on Thursday. Shakeel was accused of being involved in thefts and some assaults in the area. He had a hostile relationship with the accused and had allegedly attacked one of their relatives earlier.Betting racket busted

The Special Operations Team of Cyberabad on Thursday busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of two persons at Ampro Colony in Karmanghat of Saroornagar.

The arrested – M. Kiran (31) and G. Devender Reddy (30) – were organising betting on the ongoing IPL cricket matches, SOT Inspector V. Umender said. An i20 car and Rs. 65,200 were seized from them. The accused, along with the seized property, were handed over to Saroornagar police for further investigation.
