20 get jail terms for drink driving

A city court on Saturday awarded three-day jail terms to 20 motorists for driving in inebriated conditions. The motorists were a part of 292 cases booked during a special enforcement drive held last weekend. Each motorist was also directed to pay a fine of Rs.2,600. The total number motorists caught for drink-driving this year stood at 3,070. Of these, 462 were awarded jail terms, a press release said.
