The city police claim to have solved the mystery behind the murder of a woman at Balshetty Kheth in Dabeerpura reported in November with the arrest of a 19-year-old man on Wednesday.
On November 3, the accused – Mirza Zeeshan Ali Khan (19) of Purani Haveli – entered into the house of the woman, who works at an apparel store near Charminar, for committing a theft. As the woman was asleep and alone, Zeeshan sneaked into the house through the kitchen window and started searching for valuables in the house.
Strangled using charger
“The victim woke up due to the disturbance in the house and found Zeeshan. A scuffle ensued between them, during which Zeeshan pushed the woman on the floor and strangled her with a cell phone chargerfollowing which she became unconscious. The accused then allegedly raped her and later fled after collecting a mobile phone from the house,” ACP Mirchowk, M. Srinivasa Rao said.
