A woman and her friend have been arrested on Friday for allegedly abducting and killing the woman’s former boyfriend, the police said on Saturday.

DCP (Central) Mandeep Singh Randhawa said the accused — Dolly Choudhary (22) and Manish Choudhary (28) — both from Uttar Pradesh, have been arrested for the murder of one Sushil Kumar.

Sushil was in a relationship with Dolly for over five years, the officer said. On August 16, Sushil’s father approached Hauz Qazi police station stating that his son has been missing since August 11. Then, an abduction case was registered, the officer said.

Phone records scanned

During investigation, the victim’s phone records were examined and a number was zeroed in but it was found be procured on a fake identity. The victim’s family informed the police about his relationship with Dolly.

On August 31, the police questioned Dolly at length. Initially, she misled the team but then confessed to the killing with the help of Manish, the police said. Dolly said that her father had asked her to marry Manish. During interrogation, she allegedly told police that two years ago, she had come to Greater Noida for a job when she met Mohit Mavi, a labour contractor. He had allegedly helped her get a job after which the duo grew close and started living in a rented accommodation.

“Sushil got to know about the affair and started blackmailing her with her nude pictures...,” Mr. Randhawa said. Meanwhile, Mohit’s wife got to know his extramarital affair and allegedly hanged herself on August 7.

He fled to Bengaluru after his wife’s family started threatening him but allegedly stayed in touch with Dolly over the phone. Meanwhile, Sushil asked her to meet him in Mathura on August 11.

“Fed up of the blackmailing, Dolly decided to kill him. She asked Manish to book a room and then arranged sleeping pills. When the duo was alone in the room, she mixed the pills in his drink after which he became unconscious,” the officer said.

Later, Manish entered the room and the two dumped the body in Mathura and fled to their respective villages, the police said.
