Woman accuses husband of rape

Punjab-based man booked; couple married last November

A 24-year-old from Punjab has been booked for allegedly raping his German wife after she approached the police with a complaint. No arrests have been made.

According to the victim, who was staying at a Paharganj hotel with her husband, they got married last November. The woman called the police from Connaught Place, saying she had lost her way. When a team reached the spot, she claimed that her father-in-law and husband had assaulted her. She later filed a formal complaint but didn’t name the father-in- as an accused.

Social media connect

The couple became friends on Facebook and met when the 44-year-old came to India before the wedding. She said her husband’s behaviour changed after marriage.
