‘Will reveal name of firm that govt is favouring’

The Delhi Congress said on Wednesday that it would reveal the name of the private company that the AAP government was trying to favour in its CCTV installation project, if the ruling dispensation did not name it within 24 hours.

At a press conference here, Congress leaders and former Delhi Ministers Arvinder Singh, A. K. Walia and Haroon Yusuf continued the attack on the AAP government over the ongoing project for installation of CCTV cameras across the Capital.

Though the government has said that the project was allotted to a public sector undertaking (PSU), Bharat Electronics Limited, the Congress claimed that there was a private company that had a tie-up with the PSU and the AAP government was trying to favour it.

Mr. Singh alleged that the government had not taken the tender for the project to the Expenditure Finance Committee and the Cabinet as the norms had been changed to keep away other bidders.
