June 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - NEW DELHI:

A 26-year-old visually impaired woman has accused a man of raping her on the pretext of marriage in Outer Delhi’s Sultanpuri.

According to police, the suspect is himself visually impaired and is father of two children. The woman who was pregnant with the accused man’s child has also accused him of aborting the child without her knowledge after he learnt of her pregnancy.

A police officer said that the woman had filed a similar complaint against the accused some months ago at Nihal Vihar police station in west Delhi but had later withdrawn it.

The woman approached the local police on Monday to file a rape complaint against the 26-year-old accused.

She alleged that the man had taken her to a house last year and raped her after promising marriage. She alleged that he hid from her the fact that he was married and had two children. “He had allegedly continued to establish sexual relations. One day the woman fell ill upon which the man took her to Lady Hardinge Hospital for treatment. Medical tests there revealed that she was pregnant,” a police officer said.

The man then allegedly gave her some medicines which led to the termination of her pregnancy. Police said they have registered a case in this connection.
