he season to head out and celebrate has set in with Delhiites having a score of events to pick from. However, choosing what to attend can be quite a task, especially when a group includes people with varied tastes.
From the traditional Ramleela melas, Dandia nights and Durga Puja pandals, which have been a part of the city’s cultural calendar for some time now, to performance art shows that showcase a slice of culture from both India and around the world, the evenings are packed with fun things to do.
In this space for culture buffs, there is something new for those who have a more contemporary taste in the way they would like to spend the break. In tune with the festival of Dusshera, an event called the “10 Heads Festival” is being organised in the city between October 22 and 25. A family-friendly festival, it will include 10 mini-festivals spread over four days at one venue.
The Dhanchiri Camping Resort on NH-8 will turn into a space that has been taken over by 10 curators to be packaged into one unique experience. From music, food, fashion, shopping, technology to the arts, the festival shall have it all.
The event, tickets for which are available online, shall be on from 12 noon to 10 p.m.
Music
Band Baja+Bass, the music festival, will be headlined by Daddy G (Grant Marshall) of the award winning British trip-hop group Massive Attack. Also, the event will include performances by Lucky Ali, Indian Ocean and Midival Punditz. Badshah, the current favourite among fans of Punjabi music, is also a part of the line-up that comprises a host of Indie artists.
Food
Titled Foodistaan, the minifest, organisers say, is set to be India’s most extensive food fest. Featuring over 30 varieties of culinary practices from the nooks and corners of India, it will also include feasts from around the world. Foodistan will also bring to people exclusive pop-up restaurants/bars such as Ibiza’s Bar Barlovento and London’s Mavericks Pizzeria. A part of Foodistan will be “Toddyfest” – A festival of drinkables with an arena dedicated to cocktails, wines, beer and mixology.
The other events that shall make up the 10 heads are: “Jaadunagari”, the festival of magic and illusion. Curated by Karan Singh, it will showcase 10 disciplines of magic with street magicians, illusionists and mind-readers.
