To celebrate the heritage and culture of Urdu, the Delhi government will be organising a five-day festival, Virasat-e-Urdu, starting Saturday.
The Urdu festival, which will take place at Connaught Place’s Central Park till November 15, will present various arts and crafts highlighting the tradition and culture of Delhi as well as stalls showcasing Urdu merchandise, literature and poetic legacy.
Entry will be free to encourage participation, read a government release.
In the statement, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said: “We were pleased with the overwhelming response to the last edition of the festival. This encouraged us to present a bigger and better avatar of the festival this year.”
