Were initially called to join a dance group run by the accused

December 29, 2013 11:18 am | Updated 11:18 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Two Uzbek women have been arrested at Greater Kailash in South-East Delhi for allegedly forcing two of their relatives into a prostitution racket.

According to the police, the accused had come to India a few months ago on a business visa and had been staying in D Block of GK-I.

The victims, both in their twenties, came here a couple of months back.

“They were initially called to join a dance group run by the accused but soon were forced into flesh trade racket,” said a police source. On Wednesday, when the victims were asked to visit a client’s house, they approached the police instead. At the police station, they informed the cops that they were being confined and forced them to join the flesh trade,” a senior police officer said.

Based on the complaint, a case under relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code as well as Foreigners’ Act was registered at Greater Kailash police station of South-East Delhi and the accused were arrested. The victims are learnt to have told the police that the accused conned their (victims’) parents by offering them salary of around Rs.25,000 per month to their daughters for joining the flesh trade and the unsuspecting parents accepted their proposal. In days to come, however, the story took a different turn once they landed here. They had even appealed to some of their clients to help them escape from the clutches of their accused but their pleas went unheard.
