October 17, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:33 am IST - NEW DELHI:

Two men were allegedly robbed of Rs. 13 lakh at gunpoint by four persons in Karol Bagh on Friday morning.

The victims had been employed by a businessman and their claims about the amount are being verified, police said.

A senior police officer said the incident was reported around 11.30 a.m. when Bunty and Pramod were going to the bank on a bike.

Locals said they had just parked the two-wheeler when four men held them at gunpoint.

They then tried to snatch the bag containing cash from Pramod and threatened to shoot him if he resisted. They fled after getting their hands on the bag.

According to Pramod, the gang threatened to shoot anyone who tried to prevent them from escaping.

He added that the robbers seemed to be familiar with the lanes and managed to escape easily.

In their complaint, the duo told the police that two men had been following them on another bike, while two others joined them later.

Eyewitnesses said that the accused also took away the keys of the bike.

CCTV footage from the area has been recovered.

Police suspect someone known to the businessman may be involved in the heist.
