Two men were arrested on Wednesday evening for allegedly raping a 28-year-old woman in Greater Noida’s Knowledge Park, the police said.
The accused, from Bihar, are residents of Greater Noida’s Tugalpur village while the victim lives with her husband in Knowledge Park, they said.
The incident took place on Monday at 8.30 p.m., when the victim was on her way home from a market in Knowledge Park. The duo allegedly held her from behind and stuffed a piece of cloth in her mouth, the police said.
Following this, they took her to a secluded spot where both of them took turns to rape her for one hour. The two accused then fled the spot.
The victim said: I had seen them roaming around the market and pass lewd comments at women.” SHO at Knowledge Park police station Arvind Pathak said a case was filed against the duo on Tuesday. The accused have been registered under Section 376 D (where a woman is raped by one or more persons constituting a group) of the IPC, he said, adding: “The accused were arrested from during checking near Tugalpur village when they were allegedly trying to run away.”
