Two dead, two injured in road accident

Two persons died while two others sustained injuries after their car in which they were travelling hit the divider at Akshardham Flyover in east Delhi on Tuesday morning.

The police said that prima facie, it appears that the car was overspeeding and the driver lost control and hit the divider.

“A police control room call was received around 6 a.m. A team reached the spot and pulled out the persons trapped inside the damaged car and rushed them to a nearby hospital,” said Pankaj Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

Doctors declared Mohd Shamim (52) brought dead at the hospital, while Mohd Shahbuddin succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

The two injured have been identified as Mohd Arish (34) and Sadakin aka Para (30). They are currently undergoing treatment.

“Arish is admitted at Max Hospital while Sadakin has been referred to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital from Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital.

“The deceased and the injured persons were residents of Sadar Bazar, Delhi. All four worked in Bakra Mandi in Gazipur,” said Mr. Singh

Case filed

A case has been registered under relevant sections at Shakarpur police station. An investigation is under way.
