A truck driver allegedly rammed the barracks of a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in the early hours of Monday in south-east Delhi’s Govindpuri.

The truck driver was caught immediately. No injuries were reported.

‘Driver drowsy’

According to the police, Munish, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Badaun, was driving a truck bearing a Haryana registration number. The police said Munish was probably drowsy after driving through the night, which might have caused him to lose control of the vehicle.

“The driver must’ve been sleepy as it was early morning. The truck went off the road and rammed the barracks, breaking the boundary wall. Fortunately no one was injured, though four two-wheelers parked inside were damaged,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (south-east) Romil Baaniya.

The police said the driver was immediately caught by CRPF guards, who were standing nearby. They handed him over to the police.
