Truck driver found burnt to death

A 40-year-old truck driver was charred to death in Rohini’s Narela in the early hours of Tuesday. The police suspect he was sleeping when the truck caught fire.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Rohini) Rajneesh Gupta said the victim has been identified as Subhash, a resident of Uttar Pradesh’s Baraut.

He was found dead in a truck parked in Narela industrial area.

The police control room received a call at 2.45 a.m. regarding a truck on fire. The local police and two fire tenders rushed to the spot. Subhash’s burnt body was found when the truck’s cabin was opened, the police said.

Case registered

An officer said Subhash had delivered sugar in Delhi. After dropping the goods in Narela, he parked the truck and slept inside on Monday night. A case under Sections 285 (negligent conduct with respect to fire or combustible matter) and 304A (causing death due to negligence) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
