A 22-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by three brothers in north Delhi’s Sarai Rohilla. Two accused have been arrested, the police said on Tuesday.

A senior police officer said the victim has been identified as Firoz, and the accused are Ashfaq, Mushtaq and Mumtaz, who is still absconding.

The victim’s brother, Arman, reported the matter and said that Firoz had been assaulted. “Arman said that he was at his shop on Monday around 10.30 p.m., with his father when he heard a person cry. When he stepped out, he saw three persons assaulting ,” the officer said. Arman said that his brother tried to break away but the men stabbed him and fled.

Based on the complaint, a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Sarai Rohilla police station.

During investigation, it was revealed that Firoz had abused the mother of the accused, which enraged them and an argument broke out between the two sides leading to the incident.

The police said that the accused and the victim were previously involved in criminal cases.
