Congress MP Shashi Tharoor was questioned for the second time on Thursday in connection with the death of his wife Sunanda Pushkar last January.

Mr. Tharoor reached the office of Special Investigative Team (SIT) around 11:30 am on Thursday.

According to sources, Mr. Tharoor will be questioned intensively on the IPL angle. His house maid Brij has also been called by the police for a second round of questioning.

The questioning that began early in the day unlike the last round of questioning is likely to go on for a longer period of time.

Police had constituted an SIT to probe the murder after registering a murder case against unknown people Jan 1 this year.

Sunanda Pushkar was found dead in a luxury hotel room Jan 17, 2014.

Sources also said that a senior police official who is the member of SIT left for the US to give the sample of Sunanda’s viscera to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Police want to confirm whether the poison was radioactive isotopes, which cannot be detected in Indian labs, the sources said.
