St. Stephen’s College principal Valson Thampu might have to face contempt proceedings by the High Court on Friday. Administrative officer Subhash Kumar Dash, who had been reinstated by a court order with certain conditions, has again moved the High Court with contempt charges against Mr. Thampu for not meeting the court’s conditions.
In his petition to be heard on Friday by Justice Suresh Kait, the administrative officer has alleged that he was made to work out of a store room used for keeping hundreds of laptops unallocated to students with no air-conditioner or air-cooler.
Mr. Dash has claimed that the work station was a health hazard as it was sprayed with pesticides and other chemicals in view of the termite infestation.
He has also alleged that he was asked to type 500 pages of an outdated manuscript which according to him is not the job of an administrative officer.
Mr. Dash had rejoined the college on April 21 after a settlement order was passed by a Division Bench of the Delhi High Court.
He has also claimed that despite the order asking them to settle their differences, Mr. Thampu had violated it by having a criminal complaint filed by the Bursar of the college against him in the Maurice Nagar Police Station on the ground of cheating in respect of certain bills.
He has alleged that all this was being done with the intention of implicating him and driving him out of the college despite the order of reinstatement.
