Teenager’s face slashed for refusing to buy cigarette

June 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - New Delhi:

A youth slashed a minor boy’s face with a blade after the latter refused to bring him a cigarette from a nearby shop in Southeast Delhi’s Ambedkar Nagar.

The incident occurred on Saturday night when 16-year-old Rajesh, who lives with his family in Madangir, was returning home.

“On his way home, a youth stopped the teenager and asked him to bring him a cigarette from a nearby shop. When Rajesh refused to do so, the youth slashed his cheek with a blade, and fled,” a police officer said.

Rajesh reached home and narrated the incident to his family, who rushed him to a nearby hospital and informed the police. “We have registered a case on the victim’s statement and efforts are on to nab the accused,” he said. — PTI
