The government has decided to double the city’s solar power generation in nine months. While it has not provided subsidy for those who harness solar energy, the government has announced an Energy Conservation Fund to support energy efficient projects, street lighting, etc.

Mr. Sisodia has allocated Rs.645 crore to the power sector, an increase from last year’s Rs.581 crore. The government has also allocated Rs.1,690 crore towards power subsidy and free water scheme. Rs.450 crore has been kept for projects planned by the Delhi Transco Limited. These include setting up of 400/220 KV grid sub-stations and transmission lines.
