With roads already flooded and traffic slow on roads, Delhiites who opted for the metro weren't spared commuting woes either, as a glitch affecting services on Violet Line caused delays on Friday morning.
The problem occurred around 8 a.m. when a large number of passengers use the services, resulting massive crowding on several stations.
The services were affected for over an hour when the technical snag hit the line connecting Kashmere Gate and Escorts Mujesar stations, the former being a major interchange stations intersecting two other lines.
According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the services were affected due to signaling/interlocking (loss of train control and view from the control centre) issue at Sarita Vihar.
"Trains had to be manually controlled on this section of Line-6 which led to bunching of trains from 8 to 9am. The interlocking issue was resolved at 9am and trains are now regulated as per normal schedule on Line-6," said a DMRC spokesperson.
