Man discloses he has several cases registered against him at various police stations; confesses to crime

A 63-year-old man was arrested on Monday for allegedly committing burglaries to spend money on his “five girlfriends”.

The accused was identified as Bandhu Singh, a resident of Anand Parbat. The police said, on Saturday, we received information regarding a burglary at Anand Parbat Industrial Area.

Items stolen from factory

The complainant Jagdish Kumar said, “At 9 a.m. when his factory employees opened the main gate, they found ceratin articles including electronic items stolen from the factory.

“Two laptops, a smart TV, ₹60000 cash and documents were found stolen from the factory. An FIR was registered at Sarai Rohilla police station. A CCTV installed at the factory captured the image of the burglar,” said Nupur Prasad, DCP (North).

Multiple relationships

Based on the CCTV footage, a raid was conducted on the suspected places to arrest the burglar. On Sunday, acting of a tip-off, the suspect was held from his home.

On further interrogation, he disclosed that he was a permanent resident of Mangolpuri.

He revealed that in order to meet his extravagant lifestyle, he used to commit crime.

He used to earn money by selling the burgled items and then spend it on five women with whom he was in regular contact.

He claimed that he never got married and was always in multiple relationships. He gave away the looted items and cash to his alleged girlfriends.

Ms. Prasad said he disclosed that he had several cases of burglaries registered against him at various police stations in the city. He is out on bail.

“We have recovered two laptops, one LED TV and ₹5,000 cash from his possession. He has also confessed his involvement in two more cases of burglaries reported in the area,” she added.
