SDMC Mayor rakes up funds issue

August 21, 2018 01:56 am | Updated 01:56 am IST - New Delhi

SDMC mayor Narendra Chawla on Monday termed the Delhi government circular over clearance of construction debris by MCDs a “political move”.

The PWD had issued a circular stating that removing “unclaimed malba” was an “obligatory function” of the corporations. Responding to it in a statement, the Mayor alleged that unclaimed debris were left on roads for months, to malign the image of the city’s civic bodies. He cited the non release of funds to the corporations as a reason, adding that he would take up the issue with the L-G.
